SHERMAN – Boy Scouts in Sherman woke up early on the Fourth of July to show some patriotic spirit.
Twenty Scouts placed over 450 American flags in neighborhoods. These boys go out five times a year on national holidays like the Fourth and Flag Day to raise these flags.
Troop 15 Scoutmaster Keith Nathan says the flag is a symbol of freedom in America, and he wants to pass that on to his troop.
"We teach the boys about the flag etiquette, taking care and pride in our national symbol."
People pay the Scouts $30 each year to fly the flags in their yards.
The money raised from the program helps fund the troop's camping trips.
