SHERMAN. -- Police are looking for suspects after shots were fired in Sherman last night at the Academy Sports & Outdoors parking lot off Loy Lake Road.

Sherman police say shots were fired in the parking lot around 9:30 Tuesday night.

Police are still interviewing witnesses to see what happened, but some report there were as many as 30 people in the parking lot.

A .45-caliber bullet was lodged into a pickup.

Police say the suspects left in an older model blue van.

No one was injured, and no arrests have yet been made.

Police are investigating to see if this may be related to a recent shooting on Evergreen last month. They have no evidence of that at this time.

In response to a comment by Johnny in Dallas. A shooting is a shooting when a bullet is fired. The shot was fired at a person but they missed their target and hit the truck. The person shot at is a victim of an attempted homicide. It does not become a "shots fired" just because they missed.

it is not a shooting unless someone is hit or injured...otherwise it is just shots fired...a pickup doesn't qualify as a victim.
