Water creeping closer to Highway 91

Spillway latest

The Army Corps of Engineers says they think the Lake Texoma spillway will crest this Saturday at around three o'clock, probably around 640.77 feet.

Of course, that could change depending on the amount of rain before now and then.

Highway 91 update

On Highway 91, the road taken to reach the Denison Dam, five tin horns, which are round tunnels there under the highway, are twelve feet in diameter and allow the spillway overflow to pass under 91.

Right now there's only around a foot left to go before the water reaches the top of those tin horns.

Once they do, Highway 91 will be shut down.

For now the highway is still open and operating normally.

We'll keep you posted on the water level.
