ATOKA, Okla. -- Deputies say Stephen James Kemp was arrested on Monday when they found thirty-nine marijuana plants growing on his property in Atoka.
Authorities say they were initially at the man's home investigating a call of shots fired at the residence. No one was reportedly injured, but the home owner was said to be acting suspicious which prompted deputies to investigate.
Kemp is currently in custody at the Atoka County Jail facing numerous charges including cultivation of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm.
