A popular education program that connects both Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Grayson County College got the green light on Tuesday.
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board granted approval to SOSU to offer its elementary education program at GCC.
The course allows GCC's two hundred education majors the opportunity to earn four-year degrees from SOSU while attending GCC.
"Think of what that means for our community not having to have a 20 to 30 mile commute with gas prices and all other costs of college," said Grayson County College president Dr. Alan Scheibmeir.
The program started in the fall of 2005.
Eighty-six students are currently enrolled in the 'Southeastern at Grayson’ program.
