DENISON -- There's another addition to Affordable Housing in Denison as the program’s fourth home was finished Thursday morning. Former councilman Bill Malvern started the project two years ago to provide affordable homes for lower income families.
The city hands over the property to the builder who builds the homes to sell with a lower price tag.
The house located on Martin Luther King Street is expected to be sold for $75,000.
"We got a lot of vacant lots, and my vision was to drive by and see a nice home, and we built this one, and I want to see a bunch more of them here," said Malvern.
Builder Mike Srader says it took three months to finish the job.
Features include central air and energy efficient windows.
