Carter County gas war

CARTER COUNTY, Okla. -- If you've taken a peek at gas prices in Ardmore, I’m sure you've noticed they have dropped quite a bit. Some might say its because of a friendly war in town.

In mid July Ardmore's gas prices shot up to $3.29 for regular unleaded fuel. At that time those prices didn’t sit too well with consumers. “That is a lot of money. That was too much to be paying for gas. I'd just come back from Michigan it was only in the $2.90's."

Some would even head down to Texas just to fill up. “I thought we were way too high filled up every chance I got down there."

Barely the first week of August and the Conoco station on commerce is selling at $2.75; across the street the Valero station is competing at $2.73.

The new guys seemly pushing the competition, Flying J, has everyone beat at $2.71. “Because we have the “C” store and restaurant and a lot of things we can rely on as far as income we can live on a smaller margin than most other plazas and gas stations"

Friendly competition doesn't seem to hurt and consumers obviously don’t mind! “Competition is in town and the free enterprise system is working."."

The gas in Grand Prairie, texas has been a 2.69 all summer. Why air a story such as this? Demand an investigation of this. Don't give these stations free advertising.

The phone lines must be buzzing in the oil cartell in ardmore, trying to figure out who failed to invite the Flying J to join. The old saying use to be if you were in the gas bussiness an loves moved across the street you were out of bussiness. Loves finally joined the Cartell. How long will it be before the Flying J will join an it will be back to bussiness as usual in Ardmore.

Gas in Lewisville Texas is $2.50 for Unleaded and $2.80 for Super Unleaded. Come on people in Ardmore. Why are your prices so much higher? I think fuel should be the same price all across the USA. Think of all the minimum wage workers trying to survive. Give us a break!!!!!!

Gas prices are still outrageous in Ardmore. On Sam Noble, there is a Gas station that has been close down for a about 4 or 5 years and back then gas was $1.38 per gallon. What is there to say about the economy and gas prices, when at time we have seen a 300% increase. Hey, I am still not very happy about the $2.71 gas prices in Carter County. Due to the fact that gas is a necessity, I think that Congress should regulate it and set a Standard uniformed gas price and really send a stern message to "BIG OIL".

Funny how they can all of a sudden be "competitive" It's not a JOKE! This is a major rip off from Ardmore businesses taking advantage and making themselves richer.

Over the weekend I paid $2.57 in Oklahoma City. Doesn't sound like friendly war to me. Sounds like gas prices are dropping every where and we are still behind as usual.
