LOVE COUNTY, Okla. -- More suspects were arraigned on Wednesday in Thackerville's illegal horse racing ring.
Twenty-five defendants stood in front of a judge facing several charges including conspiracy, commercial gambling, managing unlawful proceeds, and for some, even racketeering charges.
Several suspects are set to be arraigned Thursday. Many could face the same charges.
Preliminary hearings will start in October.
Nearly 100 people were arrested in the bust last month on charges of illegal gambling, betting and racketeering.
If convicted, some of the suspects could face up to 10 years in jail and a $20,000 fine.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission, and Oklahoma Highway Patrol all came together for what was called "Operation Red River Reunion."
The operation involved 162 law enforcement officers, two helicopters, and an airplane.
Officials say the horse racing took place at a track in Thackerville off Highway 77. They say the racing had gone on there for nearly a year, and the OSBI had been investigating for eight months before they executed the operation.
Authorities say people who were arrested could face up to 10 years in jail, and a possible $10,000 fine.
