FANNIN COUNTY, Tex. -- Five Leonard teenagers have been arrested for their involvement in the multiple pipe bomb explosions across Fannin County.

Fannin County Sheriff Kenneth Moore says he still doesn't understand what would drive five teenagers to make and then blow up four pipe bombs, but he says he does know those five teenagers will all pay the price for their actions.

The five teenagers turned themselves in Tuesday morning at the Fannin County Sheriff's Office, all of them accused of setting off the pipe bombs.

During the course of their investigation, authorities say they were able to link four explosions across the county to the bomb that destroyed a Leonard police car.

The teens reportedly placed a homemade pipe bomb made from PVC pipe and sparklers on the trunk of the car, damaging the rear window and the light bar on the top of the cruiser.

All the teenagers are over the age of seventeen, and officials say all of them will be tried as adults.

Fannin County Sheriff Kenneth Moore says, "We're not in the prosecution business here at the Fannin County Sheriff's Office. We're in the justice business, and to see that everyone is treated as well as they will let us treat them, so we gave them to opportunity to turn themselves in."

Three of the teenagers have posted bond. Two of them are still in custody.

Bond has been set at $20,000 each.

How about first we get the facts straight to help add some credibility to this forum. Three boys were charged with three counts and two boys were charged with four counts. Each count carried a $20,000. bond so two of the boys bonded out at $140,000. and the other three were bonded out at $120,000.

These are a bunch of kids! They messed up and they have learned their lessons. They should be punished but a misdemeanor with probation would do. If these kids get a felony it will ruin the rest of their lives. Do you really want that to happen? I happen to know these kids. They are good kids that just made a stupid mistake. They didn't hurt anyone. They had no intentions of doing so and to say that somebody could have got hurt is ludicrous. Everybody makes mistakes in their lives. To ruin these kids lives would be a crime and all of you people who say they should be locked up should feel terrible. These kids should get a misdemeanor and have to pay restitution and serve probation. All of you people who think otherwise need to look into your heart and think about what you are saying.

Dena, I did say that Bryan County was without crime nor did I say that Bryan county never made the news. All I said was that a crime is a crime not matter what age you are and that whether you are 17 or 70 the punishment should be the same.

I can't believe what I'm reading on here!! Half think we should throw the book at them (which I agree with). The other half pretty much want to change their diapers for them!!! Their background history DOES NOT matter!!! If someone blew up your car I think you would want their head for it!! I believe in "An eye for an eye" law enforcement. They should blow up something of their's to even the score, and on top of that a suitable punishment. I'm sorry these guys are not toddlers, and when they sh** in their pants it's not our job to clean it up. Think about what you say, BEFORE saying we should pretty much do NOTHING to these idiots!!! edited by KXII Staff
