ARLINGTON, Tex. -- One North Texas school district is making changes after playground equipment spontaneously erupts into flames.
Surveillance cameras at Beth Anderson Elementary School in Arlington, Texas captured playground equipment going up in flames Thursday. The video shows the play area engulfed in flames in less than one minute.
School officials said Monday a combination of rain and extreme heat caused ground level wood chips to break down.
No one was injured in the incident.
The district now plans to change the playground footing material.
