ARDMORE, Okla. -- A 30-year-old Ardmore man is behind bars for taking a bite out of the wrong side of the law.

Authorities say Michael Nathan Rice was being placed under arrest early Sunday morning when he became violent and started resisting arrest.

Rice then bit an Ardmore officer on the arm and spit several times on the arresting officer.

Rice is being held on a $50,000 bond and faces charges of assaulting a police officer and throwing human waste on a city employee.

The officer was not severely injured.
