STRINGTOWN, Okla. - Three men who escaped from a prison in southeastern Oklahoma were caught in Oklahoma City on Wednesday.
Robert Damico was caught in southwest Oklahoma City about noon on Wednesday, police said. Robert Abraham and Kenyatta Manuel were caught near Northwest Expressway and Blackwelder Avenue more than an hour later.
Prison spokesman Jim Farris says Robert Damico, Robert Abraham and Kenny Manuel were missing at roll call this morning at 5:30 at the Mack Alford Correctional Center.
Damico was recaptured by Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers at noon on Wednesday at his stepfather's business in Oklahoma City. Damico was with his girlfriend, Shonda Smart. She was also arrested and will be charged with assisting an escape.
Abraham and Manuel are were caught at a motel in Oklahoma City at 1:30 on Wednesday afternoon. The men were staying there with their girlfriends, and had a room listed under one of their names. They surrendered to authorities when state troopers surrounded the building.
Authorities believe they escaped when the mens girlfriends, Smart, Tabatha Ratliff, and Rashika Williamson, picked them up.
They were both serving time for drug convictions while Damico was convicted of theft and assault.
This is Mack Alford's first escape in several years. All three inmates were in the minimum security section of the prison.
The men are in Department of Corrections custody. The women were taken Wednesday evening to the Atoka County jail. They will be charged with aiding an escape, a felony offense.
