New affordable housing in Van Alstyne

VAN ALSTYNE, Tex. -- The doors opened Monday to new affordable housing in Van Alstyne.

The Texoma Housing Partners held a ribbon cutting Monday afternoon for a brand new one-bedroom and a two-bedroom home.

City officials say the need for affordable housing for the elderly in Van Alstyne is great.

They say their waiting list is fairly long and these units will fill up fast.
