Bonham man in custody facing several charges

FANNIN COUNTY, Tex. -- Authorities say when they tried to stop 47-year old Richard Clark for suspicion of driving while intoxicated that during that traffic stop, Clark sped off with his children in the car and ran over Sgt. Lonnie Griggs’ foot.

A chase ensued that went on for several miles on Highway 78, ending at Clark’s parents’ home where he ran out the back of the home into the woods and got away.

Clark is now in the Fannin County Jail charged with four counts of endangering a child, aggravated assault, resisting arrest, and driving while intoxicated.

Sgt. Griggs is home recovering and is expected to return to work as early as Thursday.
