Gainesville toddler's killer loses final appeal

FORT WORTH, Tex. -- Seven years after the murder of Gainesville toddler Jorden Saager, the woman convicted, who was her own babysitter, has lost her final appeal.

We introduced you to the Saager family in August of 2001. At the time, they were fighting for justice for their two-year-old daughter, Jorden.

They claimed she was brutally abused and ultimately killed by her babysitter, Kim Stevens.

It wasn't until 2003 that Stevens was actually arrested for the crime.

Last week, she lost her final appeal in the Second District Court of Appeals in Fort Worth.

The judge affirmed the court’s judgment, upholding Stevens’ sentence of life in prison.

Jorden would have been nine years old in 2007.
