DENISON, Tex. --Officials in Denison are investigating a deadly fire. Firefighters say it happened early Sunday morning in the 300 block of West Walker. One man died in the fire, but no word on how or where the fire started.
There's extensive damage throughout the home. The front rooms are totally charred, with caution tape roped all around the home. Several pieces of debris line the yard and hang on the fence, including a garment bag. Over half of the house was destroyed before firefighters arrived on the scene.
Fire officials say a woman inside the house escaped, but 75-year-old Bobbie Pressley did not. Pressley was in his bedroom when the fire started and was not able to escape the burning house.
Officials who are still investigating say the kitchen stove was left on, causing the fire.
