MADIL, Okla. -- A local soldier is back with his family after being severely injured in Iraq. Captain Beau Alan Hendricks was on a convoy re-supply mission when he says a rocket round hit a building 15 feet away from him, hitting him with shrapnel.
Despite all he's gone through, Hendricks says he believes American servicemen and women are doing a lot of good in Iraq.
"When you're on the ground everyday, you see good. You're going to the schools; you're building, bringing stability and peace. You're bringing to certain regions you're responsible for."
Hendricks says he's recovering well from his injuries and in two weeks, he and his wife, Elizabeth, expect to fly to Hawaii where he is stationed.
