HOWE, Tex. --Crews have moved a controversial billboard in Howe. The "Sara's Secret" advertisement, promoting a self-proclaimed "Lover's Depot," was moved to a different sign about 900 feet from the original location.

Previously, parents and school buses drove to Howe elementary school everyday, passing the sign. Some parents were concerned the display was too close to the elementary school.

When KXII contacted store owner Sara Lee on Monday, she had not received any complaints on the advertisement. Since then, Lee says the owner of the sign contacted her, asking her permission to move the sign's location.

Sara’s Secret is a self-proclaimed “Lover's Headquarters,” with ten stores across the Dallas area. The company website lists multiple products including condoms, oils, and other sexual novelties.

Oh please, Terra. Look around Howe. We have more than enough "tacky" homes and businesses around our little burg. Some of those billboards look and are kept up better than some of our so-called homes. Let's not be hypocrites. As previous posters have pointed out, this isn't really about the kids, it's about a group of adults trying to force their personal ideals down others' throats. That isn't FREEDOM, that's censorship.

Billboards are tacky regardless of what's being advertised. However, there's nothing wrong with standing up for your community and saying "ENOUGH!" This doesn't make someone a bible beater, this doesn't mean that someone is letting a billboard raise his/her child, or any of the other cop-out ridiculous notions that have been posted. This is about having some pride in the school and community and about standing up for what is right.

Anon from Sherman, what on Earth are you talking about? What does sex offenders have to do with this billboard? Are you claiming that the billboard attracts pedophiles? I would suspect that a pedophile would be more turned on seeing the school than seeing that billboard. Of course, since your post makes absolutely no sense, who knows what you mean? Anyway, the vast majority of kids who are molested are victimized by family members or family friends--not strangers who get all worked up over seeing the word "condom".

You people need to wake up on here, OK so lets just move all the sex offenders right back down the streets of HOWE and see what parents and other people say about it, you will never know they are there, you parents that say OH WELL I DRIVE BY THERE EVERYDAY you will never noticed that he or she is there RIGHT??

In response to Jim, I wish they would put an actual store in Pottsborro so I won't have to drive all the way to Dallas. Grow up. And Bruce, you are INSANE.

It is not about the wording on the sign, the morals of society or whether or not the kids notice the sign. It was about the fact that the sign was located across the street from the elementary school play ground. The sign was advertisement for a Sexually Oriented Business. A type of business that by law can not operate within several thousand yards of a school. With that being said, they should not be able to advertise within several thousand yards of a school either. The issue is also not about the type of business, it is about those certain, NOT ALL individuals who shop in these types of stores, who may prey upon children. Why take a chance. Say Chester the Child Molester's attention is drawn to the sexually oriented business sign as he drives down the road, do you really want the school play ground being the next thing he sees. Could that happen? Would they act on the impulse? Would you want your child on that swing? Why take the chance? Move the sign 1 mile N. or S.
