COLLINSVILLE, Tex. --The Collinsville city council met for hours Tuesday evening for their monthly meeting. The hot topic on the agenda was a request for the city secretary to resign. Council members say one year ago, Secretary Frances Pilcher agreed to train a successor because she planned to retire.
Councilman Jeff Williams said he finally called for her resignation because he thinks a year of training should be enough to learn the job. Her successor, Troy Vannoy, said he is continuing to learn more on the job every day.
Pilcher said she plans to stay with the city for at least one more year. The council did not take any action on the matter Tuesday night.
