Bells FD awarded grant

BELLS, Tex. -- Bells Fire Department is getting a little help from Washington. U.S. Senator John Cornyn's Office says more than $250,000 has been awarded to the department.

The funding will be used to pay for trucks, training and support operations.

A spokesman for Cornyn's Office says it's an on-going effort by the Senator to strengthen the capabilities of emergency personnel across the state.

Cornyn says the money will ensure first responders have the resources they need to keep Texas communities safe.
