ADA, Okla. -- Ada residents are scheduled to pause and remember Caitlin Wooten next weekend, but on Friday night Mayor Frank Stout is set to make a proclamation at the football game.
Lawmakers and special guests, including Governor Brad Henry, will be on hand for the occasion.
Caitlin was kidnapped from the high school parking lot two years ago and then murdered.
"When we lost Caitlin, everyone felt that they were losing one of their closest friends and relatives. It hurt all of us. It's another way for this community to heal, to come together and celebrate Caitlin’s memory," said Mark Bratcher with the City of Ada.
Wooten would have been 18 years old this year.
