From home to help for heart attack victims

SHERMAN, Tex. -- When it comes to transporting heart attack patients to the hospital, time is critical.

On Monday, local first responders took part in a drill with Wilson N. Jones to decrease the time it takes to get patients to the emergency room.

Hospital staff says the goal is to get patients from their door to the emergency room within 90 minutes.

Currently, they're beating that goal by 55 minutes.

"The faster we get patients in, the faster and better it is for them," says Wilson N. Jones ER director Donna Upchurch.

Wilson N. Jones meets regularly with first responders all over Texoma.
