POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY, OKLAHOMA -- A court has ruled that Jerrod Murray, the former East Central University student accused of killing his classmate, is competent to stand trial.
Online records show that a report by The Department of Mental Health was filed in court Thursday, stating that Murray is competent to stand trial and proceed to arraignment.
Records show that the court entered a plea of not guilty on behalf of Murray.
He's charged with first degree murder for shooting and killing fellow-student Generro Sanchez back in January.
Murray is scheduled to re-appear in court September 3rd.
