ADA, OK -- A house fire in Ada leaves the homeowners with half a million dollars in damages.

Just before midnight Thursday, fire crews responded to a house fire at 405 Crownpoint Street.

Assistant Fire Chief, Rob Johnson, says the majority of the smoke and fire was in the kitchen and utility area, but more firefighters were called on scene to help when the fire spread.

"The fire did breach into the second story of the house, and had some work to extinguish the second story, " Johnson said. "We called in approximately 8 or 9 overtime personnel."

Johnson says the house is not a total loss, and all three occupants were able to get out safely and unharmed.

The cause is still under investigation.
