BURNEYVILLE, OK -- Several agencies are investigating a fatal shooting in Love County.
The Love County Sheriff's Office says around 7:30 Monday night they responded to a shots fired call at a home on Shankles Road in Burneyville. When they arrived on scene Sheriff Joe Russell says a man was found dead inside the home.
"The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the City of Marietta and one of my deputies was the first ones on the scene, and then we called OSBI in and they're doing an investigation," Russell said.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says it appears the man, whose name has not been released, was shot multiple times.
The OSBI says the victim was not a resident of the home. They say he was just visiting with family, and at this time agents say they are not sure exactly what led to the shooting.
"There was at least four people in the house counting the victim," Russell said.
At last check, Russell told us no arrests had been made.
"We do have some suspects," Russell said. "It's still under investigation and I really can't tell you exactly how many, how many we think are involved."
