Bryan County storm training presentations

BRYAN COUNTY, OK -- Several Bryan County residents are now "storm ready" when severe weather strikes.

The National Weather Service, Bryan County Emergency management and SOSU teamed up today to inform students and residents of the signs of severe storms.

Those in attendance learned cloud and storm recognition, received information about storm shelters and were told what to do during a tornado warning.

"We want them making their plans now, being ahead of the game so to speak so that when the time comes whether it's 2:00 in the morning or 2:00 in the afternoon, if a warning comes out, we want them to know what to do and not have questions and to act as quick as possible," Bryan County Emergency manager James Dalton said.

If you missed out on today's presentation, there will be another one on Saturday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Victory Life Church in Durant. The event is free and open to the public.
