CALERA, OK-One Bryan county police department gets two new rides specifically designed for police officers.
Calera police received two Ford Police Interceptors Thursday. Police Chief Don Hyde said they have been working on getting new patrol cars and were able to find funding in their budget. He said the new cars are built to handle police work with airbags surrounding the cabin, bulletproof doors and it passed the 75 mph rear-crash test.
"I love em. I love em, it's a change it's a transition that we're glad to be making. And also, if you notice the color, the color is gray. We're changing our fleet over the years," he said.
Hyde said they will be retiring some of their Crown Vics and will be getting new patrol cars in the next few years.
