A bus took Ardmoreites to and from Oklahoma city today for the fourth annual Ardmore Day at the Capitol.

Jaime Watts said she's glad she went along for the trip.

"It was a really full day and a really good day," she said.

More than 30 people attended this year's trip. They all had to be at the Convention Center ready to leave at 6:30 this morning.

They began their day with a tour of the Capitol, and went on to visit the Supreme Court and have lunch with members of the House and Senate.

Representative Pat Ownbey said the visit included talks from state officials.

"We've had good presentations from the Lieutenant Governor, just finished up here a few minutes ago, and our speaker T.W. Shannon," said Ownbey.

Watts said they got the chance to bring up some issues that hit close to home.

"The new worker's compensation bill, and also the possibility of lowering of income tax in Oklahoma," said Watts. "Those were two things people brought up some."

The Ardmore Chamber of Commerce sponsored the day at the capitol.
The folks who went say the trip inspired pride in their city and their state.

"...A better sense of history and just what a great place Oklahoma is," said Watts.
