CLAYTON, OK -- A Clayton, Oklahoma man says he is the victim of terrorism in his own town.
Nicolette Schleisman spoke with him about what he has endured over the past six months, and why he is living in fear.
Dale Jackson has lived in Clayton, Oklahoma, off and on, for the past 70 years.
But it is only over the past six months that he has felt threatened in his own home.
"They could have already murdered someone, shooting into the house like they have," said Jackson.
Jackson says vandals have shot at his home 12 times, at his work coolers, even burned down some of the homes he owns, and his work trucks.
But it is not just the million dollars in property damage that has got him worried.
"I am in fear for my life. They could come in right now. And try to do something. Or do something. And you never know when or where."
Clayton Chief of Police, Roger "Puff" Erwin says they have persons of interest in the case. But with only two officers, his department does not have the staff or the money to thoroughly investigate. And they need help.
"If we can prevent this we need to pool our resources and do what we can. I've worked on it night and day," said Erwin.
County Commissioner, Jim Long, says Jackson gives a lot back into the community, and he does not know why anyone would target him.
But he does not want other residents to worry about their safety.
"These people will be brought to justice. I want the people to know that we have a really good DA and a new sheriff that I am so excited for and the commissioners are working diligently," said Long.
Jackson and his son have taken extra precautions, called outside law enforcement, and say they will not stop until the vandals are caught.
"I do not know what their motive is. I wished I did. But I can't think of a thing that I have done to anyone that would warrant this," said Jackson.
Jackson is offering a $25,000 reward for anyone with information on the case.
If you have any information, you are urged to contact the Clayton Police Department.
