ARDMORE, OK -- Before, during and after the race runners were splashed with colored corn starch from sweatband to sneaker.
"We always hear about them in Tulsa, but that's kind of far away," said Brooke Ellis, who participated in Ardmore's first ever Color Run Saturday morning with friends.
"We just like to run and try to exercise and we thought it would be cool," said Ellis.

Alicia Gilmartin, program coordinator for the HFV Wilson Community Center, hopes the 900 participants will color their lives with the message of fitness and fun.
"Get out, get active, have fun," said Gilmartin. "Exercise doesn't have to be boring. It can be a blast."
The entry fee was $30 for the 5K and $20 for the one mile fun run. All the money benefits the HFV Wilson Community Center's after school and summer programs for children.
"So it kind of goes hand in hand," said Gilmartin. "You're doing a good thing for your body and you're doing a good thing for the kids of the community."
