Denison man taken to hospital after cement truck crash

SHERMAN, TX -- A cement truck overturned after 2:00 Monday afternoon in Sherman sending a Denison man to the hospital.

Police say 49-year-old Ronnie Blair was traveling along the on-ramp to Highway 82 East from 289 when he lost control and crashed. Authorities say Blair escaped with non-life threatening injuries. Officer Jeff Jones says it appears speed was a factor in this accident.

"He was going too fast for conditions, the weight of the vehicle shifted and his back tires started to slide here. He went about 200 feet before he rolled the vehicle, one complete turn, and landed back on his wheels and the cement dumpster detached," Jones said.

The ramp was closed for at least two hours.

Sherman police and fire responded.
