Deputies actively searching for man in connection with Garvin County meth ring

GARVIN COUNTY, OK -- Investigators say Edward Heath McCoy is the only one of 19 suspects still wanted in connection with a meth ring centered near Lindsay.

Garvin County Sheriff, Larry Rhodes, says his deputies and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agents have arrested 18 people since December 11th, but McCoy is still on the loose.

"What we believe to be reliable information that Heath McCoy may be armed and should be considered dangerous," Rhodes said. "That information came from somebody that knows him and provided that information to us."

McCoy is wanted for conspiracy to distribute meth. Rhodes says when deputies went to McCoy's home to serve a warrant, he wasn't there, but they believe he's still in the Garvin County area.

"As recent as last night...my deputies responded to an area west of Pauls Valley, where they conducted a search of a property that is leased by Edward Heath McCoy. That search turned up nothing."

Rhodes says if you comes in contact with McCoy, do not approach him, and immediately call your local authorities.
