SHERMAN, TX -- Breast cancer patients and survivors are one step closer to having a retreat, just for them, right here in Texoma.
On Tuesday, more than 200 students, faculty, staff and community members came together for Grayson College's "Just Doo It" event.
Donning everything from pink doo-rags, to poodle skirts, they raised $3,700 dollars for Women Rock, Inc., a group that funds mammograms and support services for local women.
The winning team "Crazy Educators" and sponsors Landmark Bank, TMC and Chapman Inc. were on hand during Friday's presidential luncheon.
The money will be used to begin construction on a safe haven for those battling breast cancer.
KXII is a proud sponsor of Women Rock, Inc.
