COAL COUNTY, OK -- Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say 56-year-old, Mark D. Thomas was headed north on Hickory Hill Road when he swerved into the other lane, ran off the road, and hit a tree.
They say Thomas then left the scene, driving for several miles on a flat tire until it shredded and the SUV quit running.
Troopers say they found Thomas on West Road, near Lehigh.
They say when Thomas took a breathalyzer test, he blew a 0.22, almost three times the legal limit.
Thomas was taken to the Coal County Jail, where staff discovered he had head injuries, and he was taken to the hospital.
Troopers say no mug shot was taken, and we're told he posted a PR bond.
No word on his condition tonight.
