Heavy rain in Ardmore makes driving tricky

ARDMORE, OK - Wet roads and rain made for some difficult driving conditions.

Many drivers had to slow down and steer around areas where water was pooling on the road.

Around 7:30 p.m., a pickup and a car ended up in a ditch alongside Highway 70 after colliding during some heavy rains.

The crash took out a stop sign at Carter Avenue. Witnesses said there were no serious injuries.

Earlier in the day, drivers had to contend with some big puddles on some roadways when the rain really started coming down around 4 p.m.

Emergency officials warn you not to drive through high water on the roadway.

OHP had a few reports of hydroplaning, but no reports of any major accidents or damage.

Throughout the evening, OG&E reported some scattered power outages in areas including Marietta, Ardmore and Gene Autry, but by late evening the company reported no outages in the area.
