(LEONARD, TEXAS) -- Leonard residents are worried that piles of tires sitting at a vacant service shop are attracting mosquitoes and endangering their health.
Emily Erater is a concerned resident, she lives right across from the service station and says she's been trying to get the tires cleaned up for six months, she believes the issue should have been taken care of before the shop went out of business.
The City turned the issue over to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. TCEQ tells News 12 that it's the responsibility of the property owner to clean up the tires, the property is bank owned. TCEQ says the bank is currently making arrangements for clean up.
