DENISON, TX -- A man is dead after a motorcycle and truck collided in Denison.

The crash happened around 6:40 Monday night in front of the Circle K gas station on FM 120.

Officers say a motorcycle, driving westbound, slammed into a truck pulling onto FM 120. Police say the man on the motorcycle died. His identity is not being released at this time. Police say the driver of the truck was not injured. Lt. Mike Eppler, with Denison Police, says speed may have been a factor in the crash.

"We need to pay extra attention to whether motorcycles are coming or not. Also every operator needs to be very cautious of how they're driving and the conditions," Lt. Eppler said.

Traffic on westbound FM 120 was diverted while police investigated. It has since been reopened.

Officers say the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
