Manhunt in Love County; authorities consider suspect "armed and dangerous"

LOVE COUNTY, OK -- The Love County Sheriff's Office says it is still searching for a suspect who broke into a home over the weekend and stole several guns.

Investigators say the suspect stole the firearms from a ranch on Oswalt Road Saturday evening then took an ATV from the property and drove down Oswalt before jumping off the 6-wheeler to take off on foot. Sheriff Joe Russell says they do not have a description of the suspect and believe there may be more than one person involved. He also believes the incident is the latest in a string of burglaries in the area. If you have any information about these burglaries Russell urges you to call the Sheriffs Office.

"Just report anything they see that's strange or out of the ordinary. A strange vehicle or anything driving around in the area, scoping out the area and stuff. If they'll just notify us we'll be glad to check (it) out," Russell said.

Russell also reminds residents to lock their doors and gates before they leave home.
