Oklahoma's manufacturing sector has grown and the expansion has also made its way to Ardmore.
8.5 percent of the state's jobs are now in manufacturing..
The Ardmore Development Authority said there are 15 manufacturing and distribution companies in town, and many of them have expanded over the last ten years creating several thousand jobs in the area.
Interim A-D-A president Brian Carter said they get interest from companies almost weekly and those already here said they'd like to grow.
"I've had several plant managers say our company would invest even more money in Ardmore and put more product lines, or more capabilities or expand their space if we were sure that the labor could be there to support it," said Carter.
Carter adds that part of Ardmore's appeal is it's location on I-35 between Dallas and Oklahoma City.
