New Speed Awareness Monitor

CALERA, OK -- If you plan on driving through Calera you may want watch your speed.

Calera Police say they purchased a new "speed trailer" with an $8,500 dollar grant from the Oklahoma Highway Safety Office. Right now it is placed along Highway 69/75. Red and Blue lights on the sign flash when a driver's going over the speed limit.

"It's a nice courtesy just to let people know because sometimes they can slip, and they not realize that they are going as fast as they are and this thing is a reminder," T.J. White, Calera Assistant Police Chief, said.

Police say the Speed Awareness Monitor will be placed in accident prone areas.
