DENISON, TX -- The first TAPS Park and Ride shelter is now ready for riders.
TAPS cut the ribbon today to the new shelter at Morton Street Plaza Shopping Center.
A Denison business owner donated the shelter because she saw people waiting in the rain and walking around the lot. TAPS director, Brad Underwood, says they expect thousands of riders to use it.
"This is a significant community investment on her part. This is a great thing to encourage ridership for the fixed route, and have a secure place for people to stand and wait while they wait on their bus," Underwood said.
Underwood hopes to place more shelters across the area.
