ADA, OK -- ODOT has officially started resurfacing State Highway 99 in Ada.
Asphalt from the road, commonly known as Mississippi Avenue, will be removed and replaced.
According to resident engineer, Julie Russell, the road will be replaced from the intersection of Mississippi and Arlington Street, southbound to the Highway 3 West ramp.
She says the road hasn't been replaced in over 10 years, and the $1.2 million project will benefit drivers and their vehicles.
"This project will provide smoother rides, it'll be less wear and tear on their vehicles. It'll produce better fuel economy for their vehicles. We're going to replace the stripes so there will be better visibility," Russell said.
Russell estimates the project will take 45 days, depending on the weather.
