SHERMAN, TX -- Dozens of people celebrated the life of Martin Luther King Jr. Satruday in Grayson County.
A parade was held in downtown Sherman Saturday afternoon. People on foot, in vans and on motorcycles traveled from the First Baptist Church on South Travis St to the MLK park on North East St.
Friday night a candlelight vigil was held around the statue of the civil rights leader at the park.
Participants were asked to donate $5 dollars, money that organizers say will go toward making the event better next year.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is Monday, January 20th.
