PARIS, TEXAS -- Paris residents now have an easier way to receive emergency alerts.
Paris Emergency Management has upgraded its CodeRED system.
It provides automatic notifications to users, via phone call, text and email.
The messages let residents know when the National Weather Service issues a warning that includes the city.
They also notify residents of street closures, water outages and other civic emergencies.
Those interested can visit the city of Paris's website to enroll in the system at www.paristexas.gov.
