GAINESVILLE, TX -- The Gainesville community was invited to a Powwow at the high school Saturday that benefits Native American students.
The Morning Star Parent Committee sponsored the event which featured gourd dancing, contests and Native American food. Crafts were also for sale. All proceeds will go toward college scholarships for Native American students at Gainesville ISD. The chairman for the committee says it is also a great opportunity to show people what a Powwow is all about. The event began at 2:00 p.m. and just ended at 10p.m.
