DURANT, OK -- A local food drive is in dire need of donations.
The Red River Food Drive is set to end Saturday, and the United Way and Red River Ford are about 26,000 pounds away from their goal of 38,000 pounds of food.
The United Way says they are in desperate need of canned vegetables. And with the holidays right around the corner, they need as many donations as possible.
The donations go to 6 food banks in Bryan County. Pat Lynch with Red River Ford says they're holding an event Thursday to help raise cash as well for those in need.
"We're having a go river ford ford night here and if we get sufficiant participants we'll raise $1,000 for the food drive and Hitchcock Food has agreed to match that," said Lynch.
You can drop off your donation at the Red River Ford, or if you call in with a donation, they will come out to you and pick it up.
