SHERMAN, TEXAS -- An investigator for the U.S. Attorney's Office was in Sherman today, cluing senior citizens in on how to deter, detect and defend themselves against Medicare fraud and identity theft.
About 30 seniors attended today's seminar.
They were told to guard their Medicare and social security numbers and double check their medical bills to see exactly what they're being charged for.
"They need to know that sometimes they're being billed and charged for things that aren't legal, and so this is going to help them understand that a little bit," Senior Citizens Center Coordinator Patsy Howard said.
