Texoma ABATE reminds drivers to look twice for motorcycles

SHERMAN, TX-One local motorcycle association reminds drivers to be aware of motorcyclists sharing the roadways.
Members of Texoma ABATE have been giving out signs to drivers at the Exxon on highway 82 and 75 Saturday, reminding them to look twice for bikers. Coordinator, Skee Dodson, said 50 percent of motorcycle accidents happen at intersections and 4 out of 5 drivers involved in a motorcycle accident said they didn't see the bikers.
Dodson said he faces many close calls every time he's on a motorcycle.

"Everyday there's more people out here that are texting, talking on the phone, not paying attention and it's always boiling down to paying attention while you're driving," he said.

May is motorcycle safety awareness month.
