TEXAS -- On August 20, TxDOT will begin displaying the number of traffic related deaths on message boards throughout Texas.
They're hoping to draw attention to the amount of deaths and the importance of safety on the road.
The message will be shown on more than 700 signs for one week of every month.
The number of traffic deaths has decreased 21 percent since 2003, but TxDot's goal is to further reduce fatalities on the road.
