United Way funding may be coming to Love county for the first time.

The Retired Senior Volunteer Program--or RSVP--has applied for $20,000 in funding..

The organization serves seniors in Marshall county and Love county and is based in Marietta.

Their project director said they plan to use any money they receive for three programs for seniors: clothing and food, a health fair and a newsletter.

"These are funded through our churches, and through our programs alone we will be using the money that way," said RSVP director Eyvonna Lemons.

United Way of Southern Oklahoma will tell RSVP if they're approved for funding between June 12th and 18th.
